No School Day Camps

What a perfect way to kick off winter break! Come and join us for a day of cultural feast hosted by FASCA (Formosa Association of Student Cultural Ambassadors,) a non-profit learning organization for ethnic Chinese youth promoting cultural heritage and youth leadership.

FASCA youth ambassadors will lead the students through a series of rich folk and traditional cultural activities to learn and experience the diverse, unique, yet harmoniously celebrated history.

This camp is offered by FASCA as a cultural and youth leadership community service. All proceeds after material/supply costs go towards supporting HCCS.

Morning Camps

Date: December 26th – 29th
Time: 9:00am – 12:00pm
Ages: 5 – 8 years old
Cost: $40 per day

Watch Legos come to life on this fun filled class of Robotics.  Students will use the latest technology and programming from LEGO® to turn LEGO® bricks, gears, and motors into vibrant, interactive creations.  They get to choose to build  model featuring different theme from sports (Goalie, kicker and cheerer) city models like airplane,  animal safari models like giraffe, gorilla and StarWars model like X-wings, AT_ST. It is learning, building, coding and fun all in one!!!

Tuesday, December 26th: Monster, Creatures, and Creeps Workshop
If you can imagine a monster, we’ll draw it! They will learn how to draw amazing cartoon characters with humorous expressions and animated poses.

Wednesday, December 27th: Anime & Mange Workshop
Concentrating on the Anime Style, Instructors will teach a variety of characters, expressions, scenes, and exclamations.

Thursday, December 28th: Under the Sea Workshop
What a great opportunity to draw original Young Rembrandts’ fish characters! Our fish characters will consist of sharks, jelly fish, octopus and others.

Friday, December 29th: Video Games & Apps Workshop
Art is all around us, including on phones and online! Join Young Rembrandts for a workshop mimicking the amazing imagery of our Favorite Apps and Video Games!

Tuesday, January 2nd: Cartoon Zoo Workshop
Animal lovers! Join us for a trip through the zoo as we learn to cartoon a variety of animals found in the zoo.

Date: January 2nd & 3rd
Time: 9:00am – 12:00pm
Ages: 6 – 9 years old
Cost: $40/day or $80 for both days
Maximum: 10 students

In this class we will explore student’s creativity and imagination can do.  They will learn how to draw people (front, profile and cartoon version), animals (realistic versus cartoon) and Perspective (3D, focal point and horizon lines) using pencil and  paper (conventional art) and students will be be introduce to digital art using Sketch pro on iPads.

Afternoon Camps

Date: Tuesday, December 26th

What to Bring: Lunch, snack will be provided

Learn about China’s various ecosystems and the various forms of wildlife that inhabit them. Activity: Food chain collage and war game, ecosystems circuit.

Let’s decorate our house for the holidays! There are many beautiful, intriguing Chinese artistic forms that children will have the opportunity to explore. Activity: Shadow puppets and calligraphy.

We’ll create fun clay models to map out famous physical landmarks in China. Activity: 3D clay sculptures.

Explore famous Chinese architecture! We’ll learn about famous Chinese buildings and build our own sound structures! Activity: Marshmallow and toothpick structures.
