The Junior Chemical Engineering classes introduce our youngest engineers to fundamental concepts of solids, liquids, and solutions. Students investigate the properties of several crazy concoctions and make their own samples of bubbles, play dough, flub, and more.

Yoga, meditation and mindfulness are tools that enhance overall well being and focus for all ages. In this 45 minutes yoga class we will play yoga games, practice body mind connection, build a short meditation practice, as well as learn some traditional yoga postures. I have enjoyed teaching short yoga classes to my students in the past and my experience teaching adult yoga and my 200 hour Yoga Certification give me an additional ability to provide an excellent experience for your little yogis!

This class is to explore, experience, and learn about Chinese culture through art. The innovative teaching and creative delivery are designed to help inspire students to appreciate not only the outer appearance of a subject but its inner essence as well—its energy, focus, spirit. Students will learn Chinese brush painting and calligraphy, and explore a wide variety of themes such as flowers, fruits, birds, animals. The class will show various techniques of using Chinese brushes and traditional rice papers to do painting, line, tones and calligraphy. Students will also explore Origami and Madala painting, a unifying experience in which people can express themselves individually within a unified structure. Do you like watching plays and musical dramas? Have you thought about becoming an actor or actress who can perform in Chinese plays and musicals? We are looking for our talented ones to join the Chinese Play & Musical Club to practice Chinese plays and musicals together! We will also organize performances at various big events. Our first upcoming performance will be at the Chinese New Year Evening Show at HCCS. Moreover, this will be a Chinese-only enrichment program – time to practice Chinese through all the fun!

Jump start your child’s STEAM education with Coding with Kids’ Little Coders class! Students will develop their computational thinking skills and build their own creative programs. Our curriculum combines a blend of fun activities – both “on-screen” and “off-screen” – to keep students engaged and excited about coding. This class will give students a strong foundation on coding basics, such as loops and conditionals, that can be built upon in our other classes. Kids will be introduced to these programming fundamentals in a variety of ways appropriate for this age group, from coding puzzles and board games to hands-on programming using online drag-and-drop tools, such as Scratch (scratch.mit.edu).

Do you play games and wonder how they are created? Would you like to build your own computer programs? Come learn how at the Coding with Kids Academy! In this fun after-school class, BEGINNERS will be introduced to the core concepts of computer programming, including loops, conditionals and variables. INTERMEDIATE students will move on to more advanced concepts, such as nested conditionals and functions with parameters. Using the Scratch development environment, you will learn how to create a variety of programs, from simple animations to multi-level games. With new projects each session, you will be able to express your creativity and advance as a coder!

Beginners
Level One: Basics Students will learn the basic controls of the game such as how to move, mine, build, craft, and defend. Depending on the session students will learn how to build basic structures such as houses or castles. Students will also be able to join with other classmates in a fun and safe environment where they can learn to work together to accomplish a task.

Level Two: Redstone Students will learn how to further their crafting expertise and also how to farm in minecraft. Also students in this session will also learn how to build basic circuits using the included redstone Mechanics of minecraft. Students will also be able to join with other classmates in a fun and safe environment where they can learn to work together to accomplish a task.

Advance
Level Three: NPC Creation Students will learn how to interact with and even build their own custom NPC (Non-player characters. Students in this session will program and create a NPC using an ingame feature to make a character of their design. Students will also be able to join with other classmates in a fun and safe environment where they can learn to work together to accomplish a task.

Level Four: Minecraft Mod Design: Students will learn how to build and interact with a mod of their creation. They will program and create textures for their mod and can keep the mod for later to show their friends! Students will also be able to join with other classmates in a fun and safe environment where they can learn to work together to accomplish a task.
