Our first event of the 2026-2027 school year is coming up on August 10th! The Hope Summer Read-A-Thon is both a school fundraiser and a fun way to help our students get set up for success this coming school year.
Summer Read-A-Thon can encourage your child to develop or maintain a reading routine before the new school year starts. Let’s remind our children that reading can be FUN, and give their developing brains a workout so they’re mentally warmed up for all the learning they’ll do this school year.
Reading materials can be in English or Chinese, including:
- Magazines
- Textbooks
- Book reports
- Graphic novels, or any other appropriately leveled picture book
- Novels
- Chapter books
Follow these steps to participate in the Read-A-Thon:
- Today: Check your email for a link to set up your student’s Read-A-Thon page on 99pledges.com
- Aug 10 – Aug 16: Help your students track the minutes they spend reading
- How Students/Parents Log Minutes
- Access the Private Page: When the fundraiser starts, you will receive an invitation email containing a link to your student’s private profile management page.
- Go to the “Track” Tab: On your student’s dashboard, navigate to the Track tab.
- Log Time: Enter the number of minutes read for specific days (or a cumulative total)
- How Students/Parents Log Minutes
- Aug 20: Drop off school supplies and meet with old and new friends at Welcome Day! Our Interim Principal Yitong Wu will announce our top readers in each grade bracket (K-2 / 3-5 / 6-8) and hand out prizes
OUR FUNDRAISING GOAL
