    Mandarin Game Design and Coding is a brilliant way to develop language and computer programming fluency through fun and exciting coding projects with your friends! Our objective is to create interactive computer art and animation such as entertaining e-cards, surveys, games, and even educational tutorials by using simple drag-and-drop style programming to learn blocks, loops, collisions, If & Else statements, and even variables using a bit of real coding language!

    Slow and clear speech along with step by step visuals and instructions will be used as we go through this course. This course is fit for all levels.

    Students use the Engineering Design Process to design, create, test, and refine a variety of flying machines. They construct a shock absorbing system designed to protect two marsh-mallow astronauts in a lunar vehicle, create their own air powered rockets, and assemble a model blimp that actually takes flight!

    Get them started early! The Little Coders class provides young students with the basics of computational thinking skills, such as loops and conditionals, through a fun blend of hands-on activities. The curriculum is built specifically for this age group, with a mix of activities from coding puzzles and board games to easy-to-use, drag-and-drop programming tools. Projects are updated each session, so returning students will have new challenges to work through and advance their knowledge.

    Calling all Minecrafters! Building Minecraft mods is a great way to learn programming, harness creativity, and enhance problem-solving skills while making your favorite game even better. Each student will get to run their own Minecraft server where they can customize the game with their own world maps and features. Students will design custom textures, build amazing structures, give their players new abilities, and depending on experience even create their own mini-games all while learning Linux and programming.

    This is a fun course design for kids of all ages with little or no background in Spanish. Our goal is to continue learning, review or gain a basic knowledge of reading, writing, and conversation. Students who enrolled in the previous sessions will have a chance to continue their progress in Spanish language. This class is taught by a native Spanish Speaker.

    Wu Shu means “martial arts” in Chinese, and has its origins in China for thousands of years. Wu Shu is the current national sport in China and the many styles of traditional Wushu have been standardized into a unified curriculum within the last century. Jet Li, Jackie Chan & Donnie Yen are some of the most high profile Wushu practitioners seen in Hollywood. HCCS Wushu classes will emphasize the learning of martial arts movement without contact or fighting and focus on improving strength, coordination, focus & confidence in each student.

    Wushu classes will cover:
    1) Flexibility & Stretching Training
    2) Wushu Basics
    3) Introductory Wushu Forms
    4) Exercise & Conditioning
    5) Martial Arts Ethics

    Classes will be overseen by Sifu Peter Dang, former US Wushu Team member from 2003-13 and head instructor at the Summit Wushu Academy.

Let your child’s imagination and creativity run wild this Winter Term by giving them a challenging and yet engaging way to keep up those hard earned Mandarin speaking skills. interactive coding, graphic design, and animation is a vast and growing field with limitless potential and application in the real world today.

Each session, students will have an opportunity to create something digitally unique and applicable in the real world to either help or entertain family, friends, and the masses. Similar products or ideas to the ones that we create in class will be featured to show it’s applicability. Students will leave each day with working buttons, music, sounds, and more. Campers will also develop collaboration skills, creative strategies, and fundamental STEAM capabilities and coding concepts that will come in handy for the rest of their lives.

Roblox offers students the opportunity to actively engage in the creative process to learn coding, design, and entrepreneurial skills that will give them the confidence to excel in school and beyond.
Beginner to advanced students in our Roblox  camps learn how to think critically and collaboratively about their work with the infinite possibilities of the platform. Students create themes, storylines, objectives, goals, and more, then publish their games online. Advanced students dive into more complex Lua coding and multiplayer development.

Minecraft is a lot of fun, but mining and building by hand can take a long time.  In this class you will learn how to program a helper robot called a “turtle” to do those tasks for you. This is a great introduction to the idea of coding, because it’s done using a simple visual language in a game kids already love to play. The coding starts simple and gets progressively more complicated as the class goes on. Let’s see how much you can get your ‘turtle’ to do!

Robotics for Little Coders with Ozobot is an opportunity for young children to develop their computational thinking skills, build their first programs, and have fun with new friends! Ozobot’s programming is designed specifically for early readers, taking into account the cognitive abilities and typical attention span of children ages 5-7. Students are introduced to basic coding concepts with simple tasks, such as customizing their Ozobot and assigning commands through different colors, then build up to more complex tasks with Ozobot’s simple drag-and-drop language.
