    Play.Fit.Fun. is like PE that has crashed into field day and then bumped into team building!   Activities are organized, uplifting, empowering and 100% focused on the kids!  Kids will have fun being active and then finish their day with renewed energy and focus.

Philosophy: Kids of all ages, abilities & sizes need more activity, fun and play!  Kids are meant to play and move!  With play and group activities kids learn, socialize and build confidence.     Mesmerizing Science
    Observation, Hypothesis, and Experiment are the foundations of scientific exploration.  But be prepared to be amazed…you’ll have trouble believing your own eyes or ears on this spellbinding expedition through the science of sound, magic, illusion and color!

    Planes, Cranes & Awesomemobiles
    Attention all Junior Engineers!  Explore the fundamentals of the forces that hold our planet and buildings together in this fun series of classes that will help you both fly through the air and anchor you firmly to the ground!

    Coding & Game Development, In Mandarin
    Children will learn to create their very own games on PCs with GameMaker software using actual C++ based programming language. All courses are taught in Mandarin. All levels welcomed.

    The Leader Within
    During this course, students will be challenged to express themselves in new ways as they learn self-awareness, empathy and emotional intelligence. Some of the activities will include making tie-dye t-shirts to learn about embracing their unique personality, and creating calming jars to grow in their understanding of their emotions.

    Mini-Hawk Soccer 
    This Mini-Hawk Soccer program gives children a positive first step into athletics. The essentials of soccer are taught in a safe, structured environment with lots of encouragement and a focus on fun. All games and activities are designed to allow campers to explore balance, movement, hand/eye coordination and skill development at their own pace.

    Dance with Haiyan
    Come dance with renowned Haiyan International Dance Academy (HIDA). HIDA is offering an exciting, high quality dance, in-school dance class designed to introduce kids to the world of dance: classical ballet, stretching, Jazz, Hiphop, and contemporary.

    MineCraft Coding: How to Train Your Turtle
    MineCraft is a lot of fun, but mining and building by hand can take a long time. In this class you will learn how to program a helper robot called a “turtle” to do those tasks for you. This is a great introduction to the idea of coding, because it’s done using a simple visual language in a game kids already love to play. The coding starts simple and gets progressively more complicated as the class goes on. Let’s see how much you can get your ‘turtle’ to do!

    Leadership & Teamwork
    Students will learn how to communicate with others and collaborate when there is more than one right answer. They participate in a  variety of instant challenges that encourage them to learn how to team on the fly. Activities include designing a bird feeder using recycled materials, and lip sync battle skits.

    Multi-Sport Camp (baseball, soccer, basketball)
    Our multi-sport camp is designed to introduce young athletes to a variety of different sports in one setting. Athletes will learn the rules and essentials of each sport through skill-based games and scrimmages. By the end of the week, your child will walk away with knowledge of multiple sports along with vital life lessons such as respect, teamwork, and self-discipline.

    Northwest Children’s Theater: The Storyteller
    Students will work to create the settings, characters, and story of their own play! Through the use of improv, theater exercises, and group collaboration, our experienced Teaching Artists will help students create and discover exciting new worlds, develop characters, and build narrative to bring stories to life. The class concludes with a mini performance!

    Learn Violin from the Master–Free
    These are string classes for all skill levels and covering eastern and western style music. Classes are free, made possible by Mr. Lau’s generosity and volunteer spirit; however, any contribution is welcome to help cover facility use and administrative support by the school.

    Superhero Science  
    Learn the science behind your favorite superheroes. Learn how to defend the bad guys with elasticity, strength, ice, an invisible bubble (monster bubble), and step through small objects by performing an experiment in each session. Students will understand the process of the scientific method as well as develop science skills through hands-on experiments taught by an experienced science teacher.

    Spanish Spring Class
    This popular class is back for the spring term. A fun course designed for learners from kinder to 5th grade, with little or no background in Spanish, to gain a basic knowledge of reading, writing and conversation through engaging activities, music, and games! Students are divided by age group. If class is cancelled due to insufficient enrollment or any other circumstances beyond our control you will be notified via-email.

    Wushu Kung Fu 
    Wu Shu means “martial arts” in Chinese, and has its origins in China for thousands of years.  Wu Shu is the current national sport in China and the many styles of traditional Wushu have been standardized into a unified curriculum within the last century.  Jet Li, Jackie Chan & Donnie Yen are some of the most high profile Wushu practitioners seen in Hollywood.  HCCS Wushu classes will emphasize the learning of martial arts movement without contact or fighting and focus on improving strength, coordination, focus & confidence in each student.

    Wushu classes will cover:
    1) Flexibility & Stretching Training
    2) Wushu Basics
    3) Introductory Wushu Forms
    4) Exercise & Conditioning
    5) Martial Arts Ethics

    Classes will be overseen by Sifu Peter Dang, former US Wushu Team member from 2003-2013 and head instructor at the Summit Wushu Academy.  A minimum of ten students are required to sign-up for there to be a class.

    Important Sign-Up Information:  please email [email protected] by March 27th, 2020 with the student’s name attending Wushu class, so that we can determine if there will be enough students to start on April 3rd, 2020.

    If you receive an email confirmation that there will be a Wushu after-school program, THEN bring $108.00 check or cash on April 3rd, 2020 or Venmo @bidang.
